It lies approximately one kilometer north of the border with Austria, on both sides of the Slavonic stream. Thanks to the preserved historical core of the town, Slavonice is nicknamed &#8222;little Tel\u010d&#8220; or &#8222;the pearl of the West Moravian Renaissance&#8220;. Slavonice is the westernmost town in Moravia, but located in the South Bohemian Region &#8211; a remnant of the chaotic communist administrative reform of 1960.<\/p>\n<p>An asphalt cycle path on the former Slavonice &#8211; Waidhofen\/Thaya railway line starts at the car park behind the station. It is 28 km long and straight as a shot.
